this unreasonably bright and silly day
stupidly happy like a smiling dog wearing a bandana
standing and wagging in a room where people sit and wait
and i
am dumb as a donut on a plate
sitting on a red-checked tablecloth
old fashioned glazed
knowing i will not change the world this day
but when you're a donut
life is sweet
anyway
oops the dog just ate me
now she's really smiling
