Thank you to everyone who voted on which of my two hats was best/least ugly/most flattering. Thanks also for the thoughtful suggestions (sombrero, kiddie pool, overturned hockey arena).
Wednesday at work I was pleasantly surprised when my friend Robin stopped by. She gave me a big hug, wished Andy and me well on the trip, reached into her bag and voila! a lovely hat that fits. Turns out Robin is a fellow big head (no wonder I love her so much). I am borrowing Robin's hat for my trip to Mexico.
